I’m a firm believer in the power of creativity and its ability to bring any idea to life. Whether I’m working on a project or simply relaxing, I’m always looking for opportunities to channel my passion for design.

During my idle working hours, I take the time to work on personal projects that allow me to explore new techniques and concepts. In particular, I love using this time to create stunning visuals for Joystick’s social media and Instagram accounts.

These projects are a reflection of my dedication to my craft and my drive to constantly improve. I’m excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with each new project.

Kindness Contagion

We were tasked with creating an original piece of digital art as an entry to the United Nations campaign to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

My focus was on how the isolation caused by the pandemic has had a positive impact on the environment. My illustration depicts the Manila skyline in the Philippines, where the significant drop in air pollution has resulted in the Sierra Madre mountain range becoming visible within the city.

May The Fourth

It’s an animated clip for Star Wars fun in celebration of May 4th.
Although I am not a die-hard fan, I love BB8 and the other robots, so I illustrated them with a running animation in mind. The concept and illustrations were created by me, but the animation was done by our in-house animator.

Earth Day

One topic that I would love to explore and create something on every year is nature. As a traveler, immersing myself in nature and capturing its beauty without causing any harm is one of my priorities.

In my own little way, I wanted to contribute to the environment, especially during the outbreak of Corona Virus. It seems like the planet is getting a chance to take a breath as we, ironically, hold ours.

Video Game Day

I am not really a video gamer, so this task wasn’t too interesting to me, but then I saw my brother playing and I got an idea.

The artwork was inspired by one of my favorite illustrators, Tom Haugomat. I love how he renders light and shadow with minimal colors. I also added a little animation.

National Bike to Work Day

I reused an old artwork and animation that I created for a bike company ad, but I added a looping panoramic background to give it a fresh look.

Although I never learned how to bike, I love walking, especially when I travel. However, I recognize the benefits of biking not just for our bodies but for mother nature as well.

Illustrate a Calculator

Illustrating a calculator was not for a celebration or a social media task, but I still posted it on my Dribbble account. It was more of an exploration of a different style of illustration, and I still love this style today – simple, yet detailed (and perhaps cute?). I also started using the same color palette for all of my illustrations, as much as possible.

Illustrate a Circle

This task isn’t related to social media, but it’s still interesting. I tried to think outside the box.

This artwork depicts a lighthouse window with a view of the Zambales sea in the Philippines. I experimented with a different style of illustration while using the same color palette, which is more monochromatic.

Illustrate Breeze

This was a marketing collateral task for a demo/pitch project. The client was looking to use illustrations on their website, but they didn’t have a style in mind yet.

I created a style that I thought would fit the company’s brand, and this one is among my favorites (maybe because I imagined myself there). The client liked it, but ultimately chose a different style.

Design a 404 Page

The original task was to design a 404 page, but the desktop design I created didn’t work well, so I changed it to a square format for consistency.

By the way, this illustration has a personal touch as it features me and my dog exploring Li River, a beautiful town in China. I also posted a free iPhone 8 wallpaper of this illustration on my Dribbble page.
